2. Who we are
Time Travelers United Restoration Project (“we”, “us”) restores historical sound recordings and publishes the restored results to YouTube channels that we own and operate. This website provides information about that work, including our catalogue of published recordings.
3. Sources, rights and our content
Where the recordings come from
We work from digital transfers of historical recordings held in public archives and other out-of-copyright sources. We do not claim to own the underlying historical recordings or the musical compositions they contain.
Rights status varies by recording
Copyright status differs from recording to recording, by era and by country. Many of the recordings we publish are in the public domain; others may still be protected by copyright in some jurisdictions even where they are free in others. We do not assert rights over material we do not hold, and we publish for historical, cultural and educational purposes. Source and rights information is credited per recording, and where our research is incomplete we say so rather than guess.
Rights concerns and removal
If you believe something published here infringes your rights, contact us at the address in section 9 with the recording and the basis of your claim. We will investigate promptly and remove or amend the material where the claim is upheld. We would rather be told than argued with.
Our own contributions
The work we create ourselves — restoration, catalogue data and descriptions, artwork composition and the contents of this website — is our own. It may not be reproduced for commercial purposes without permission.
4. Your use of this site
You are welcome to browse, listen to and share links to this site and our videos. You agree not to:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to this site or any part of our systems;
- scrape, bulk-download or systematically redistribute the site's contents or catalogue data;
- misrepresent this project, its sources, or the rights status of any recording;
- use our material in a way that suggests we endorse you or your product.
5. YouTube and YouTube API Services
Our videos are hosted on YouTube. Your use of YouTube is governed by the YouTube Terms of Service, and information handled by YouTube is covered by the Google Privacy Policy. These apply independently of these terms.
This website and our publishing tools use YouTube API Services. Our access is used only against channels that we own: to upload our own restored videos, place them in playlists we own, update their titles and descriptions, and read back our own upload and playlist status. It is not a public application, it is not available to third parties, and it does not access anyone else's YouTube data. Our use is subject to the YouTube API Services Terms of Service. Information we handle is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. No warranty
This site and its contents are provided “as is”. We take care with historical accuracy and audio quality, but we make no warranty that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that every catalogue detail is correct. Attributions, dates and personnel are given in good faith and may be revised as research continues.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this site or its contents. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The current version will always appear on this page together with its effective date, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
